1 cup butter or margarine
11/2 cups granulated sugar
4 eggs
1 tsp almond extract
2 cups all purpose flour
2 tsp baking powder
1 (21 oz). can cherry or Blueberry pie filling
powdered sugar
whipped topping
Note:
Substitute Blueberry pie filling for Blueberry dessert
Cream together butter and sugar
Add the eggs and beat unitl light and fluffy
Add the almond extract, stir in the flour and baking powder
Mix until smooth
Butter 9" X13" cake pan and pour cake mixture into the pan.
Spoon the pie filling into the cake in 16 spots, 4 across and 4 down evenly in each direction.
Bake at 350 45-50 minutes until cake tests done. The filling will sink into the cake while baking
Cut into 16 pieces and serve bottom side up, dust with powdered sugar and top with whipped topping if desired.
