French Silk Pie

1- 8" baked pie shell (I buy the frozen ones if I don't have time to make pastry.)
1/2 cup butter or margarine (butter is better)
3/4 cup white sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1 square (1 oz.) melted unsweetened chocolate
2 eggs
2 tbsp. chopped pecans or shaved semi-sweet  chocolate

Cream butter and sugar until fluffy
Add vanilla & cooled melted chocolate  mix well
Add eggs one at a time beating 5 minutes after each egg. (Medium speed)
Pour into cooled baked shell and sprinkle pecans or chocolate over top
Chill at least 2 hours or overnight.
This will keep several days in the fridge or can  be frozen and served  at a later date.

TIP:  place your bowl and mixer blades in the
freezer for about 10-15 minutes before starting.
